Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis announced plans Monday to seek $25 million for “urgent” structural repairs to the Freedom Tower in Downtown Miami, one of South Florida’s most iconic buildings.

If approved during the upcoming legislative session, the money will go to Miami Dade College, which uses the building as an art museum and office for multiple discplines. Its 30,000 square feet of museum space is home to almost 3,000 pieces of art and artifacts.
