Property owners’ attempts to stop the processing of a land annexation application were rejected Wednesday by the Third District Court of Appeal, which affirmed a trial court’s ruling in favor of Miami-Dade County as it involved objections to a boundary change that hadn’t happened yet.

It’s a ruling that discourages litigants from prematurely filing a lawsuit before a legislative process is complete. In this case, Third DCA Judge Monica Gordo suggested the appellants lobby their commissioners and publicly present their views in favor or against a resolution.
