Elmer Joseph (E.J.) Generotti, (admitted 1977) passed away peacefully on Feb. 18. He was 68 years old. A native of Jessup, Pennsylvania (born Aug. 17, 1952), Generotti was a 44-year member of the Florida Bar, and a member of the very first graduating class of Nova Southeastern University/Shepard Broad College of Law, graduating in its inaugural class in 1977.

Generotti began his career at the Broward County State’s Attorney’s Office and served on the board of directors of Legal Aid Services of Broward. He was an honorable, active, and highly respected member of the Broward County legal community by both members of the bench and bar. He held himself to the highest ethical standards in every aspect of his career as an attorney and was a tireless advocate for his many clients over four decades. His word was his bond. Generotti was a partner at the law firm of Frank, Weinberg & Black, where he was considered an indispensable member of the litigation department. He devoted the last 22 years of his practice at the firm and is remembered as a highly skilled trial attorney and advocate; and a trusted adviser to both his clients and colleagues alike. Generotti was viewed by many as a member of their extended family because he treated everyone as if they were a valued member of his family and genuinely cared about people. He will be missed by all that had the privilege of knowing him.
