Troubles appear to be mounting for a prominent South Florida attorney facing an ethics case after settling an insider trading charge with the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission.

Donald R. Tescher faced a one-year suspension based on a recommendation by a court-appointed referee handling his disciplinary proceedings. But a new order from the Florida Supreme Court suggests his punishment could be much harsher, and could include disbarment.
