A Miami federal court decision about website accessibility is sounding the alarm for businesses across the country, according to attorneys who focus on disability issues.
U.S. District Judge Robert Scola ruled last week that supermarket chain Winn-Dixie Stores Inc. violated a blind customer’s rights under the Americans with Disabilities Act by not making its website usable via screen reader software, which has been around in some form for decades.
