Political bickering could get in the way of progress the next time people assemble to propose revisions to the Florida Constitution, past committee members worried at a Gainesville gathering that included former governors and legislators.

“I think that Florida right now is hyper-partisan in its politics,” Holland & Knight attorney Clay Henderson said. “I fear we’re going to be on the defensive.”
