The legal profession lags behind the rest of the world when it comes to technology, speakers said Wednesday at the 2015 annual Florida Bar convention.

“If you took a lawyer from the 1800s and transported him into a modern office, he would probably be able to find his way around and do a great job,” said Jack Newton, CEO of Vancouver, Canada-based Themis Solutions Inc., which provides the cloud-based legal practice management software Clio.
