Samer Algahmi v. Service Trucking Inc. and Kenneth Hosely: A man who was rear-ended by a tractor-trailer while driving on Interstate 84 in Connecticut has settled his federal lawsuit against the rig’s driver and the trucking company for $1.8 million.

According to the plaintiff’s lawyer, Eric P. Smith, of the Faxon Law Group in New Haven, his client—Samer Algahmi—was doing a favor for a cousin on the night that an accident forever changed his life. A friend of Algahmi’s who owned gas stations around the state asked him if he would pick up the nightly cash and receipts from the stations and then drop the money at a bank.
