A Santa Clara County jury tossed K.C. Multimedia’s $457 million trade secrets lawsuit against Bank of America on Thursday, finding the Cupertino, Calif.-based firm made its misappropriation claims in “bad faith.”
Jurors also didn’t believe KCM owned any trade secrets when it sued Bank of America in 2001. The suit alleged the bank stole computer source code and then tried to cover up the theft. Bank of America hired KCM in the late ’90s to help it streamline its wireless banking program.
