Six months after Hurricane Rita blasted the Gulf Coast and surged across East Texas and Southwestern Louisiana, several plaintiffs lawyers in Beaumont — one of the communities hit hard by the storm — say Rita has blown a substantial amount of business their way.
“I don’t advertise for these clients, and I’ve gotten a slew of them,” says Beaumont solo David Starnes, who filed one of the first Rita-related insurance suits in Jefferson County, Texas.
