Minimum-wage workers should begin noticing the first increase in four years in the state’s minimum wage with their first paychecks of 2017.

Gov. Andrew Cuomo said the increase, which he and state legislators approved as part of the current state budget in early April 2016, will affect the 2 million in New York who earn the minimum wage.
