The Obama administration on Wednesday released the final version of a rule requiring federal contractors to disclose information about labor law violations as part of the process of applying for government contracts under its Fair Pay and Safe Workplaces Executive Order.

The so-called blacklisting rule—which rolls out starting Oct. 25 and reaches full implementation during 2017 and 2018—is intended to keep contractors accountable and compliant when it comes to treatment of workers, but may pose challenges for contractor companies, their counsel say.
