A California federal judge ruled last week that The Hershey Co. and Nestle USA Inc. do not have to disclose on their chocolate wrappers that ingredients may have been harvested on farms using child labor.

In a March 29 decision, the judge dismissed class actions alleging the companies violated California false advertising and unfair competition laws by not disclosing that some of their cocoa beans originated from farms in Cote d’Ivoire that use child labor.
