At least three general counsel—Mark Roellig of Massachusetts Mutual Life Insurance Co., Mark Holden of Koch Industries Inc. and Brad Smith of Microsoft Corp.—are making news for their efforts to improve racial diversity in the business world.

Roellig, in the last installment of a three-part interview published online by Bloomberg Big Law Business, said corporate America understands the importance of diversity, but he doubts law firms do. The first article ran July 24 and the final one appeared July 28.
