Wendy Hufford, president of Effective Dispute Management LLC, sat down recently to chat with Galina Davidoff, litigation consultant at Magna Legal Services, about the challenges of managing litigation teams, ways of generating data points and increasing reliability of case evaluation, the use of jury research and how academic studies of litigators comport with corporate litigation experience.

The two have more than 40 years of litigation experience between them. Hufford was most recently vice president, deputy general counsel and assistant secretary of ITT Corporation, the White Plains, N.Y.-based global manufacturer of critical components and technology solutions. During her four years there, she was responsible for managing the company’s intellectual property and contracts team and handled global employment, benefits, executive compensation, privacy, compliance and corporate governance matters. Her current company, Effective Dispute Management, is a consulting firm that helps companies reduce their outside counsel spending through process improvements and negotiation services. She has also worked in various litigation positions at Cardinal Health in Dublin, Ohio; GE Consumer Finance-Americas in Stamford, Conn., and Credit Suisse First Boston; and was a litigator at Davis Polk & Wardwell in New York.
