It’s time for Michael Callahan to update his LinkedIn profile as vice president, general counsel and secretary of the business and social networking company. According to The Lawyer, Callahan will take over the legal reins of LinkedIn Corp. from departing GC Erika Rottenberg on July 28.

Though Callahan comes to the company from Auction.com, where he has served as executive vice president, chief legal officer and secretary since January of last year, his most prominent legal role to date has been his 13 years at Yahoo Inc. as executive vice president, general counsel and secretary. Natalie Stanton reports that he had many notable achievements at Yahoo, including navigating a potential hostile takeover bid from Microsoft Corp. and then initiating a 10-year partnership between the two companies.
