Audrey Boone Tillman, recently named general counsel of insurance giant Aflac Inc., is an attorney used to making transitions. In her career she’s moved from firm work to academia to Aflac’s law department to the ranks of management. She’s become accustomed to negotiating the learning curve that comes with a career move, but that doesn’t mean she isn’t still a bit nervous about the new job.

“I’m less nervous than I would’ve been 15 years ago,” she told CorpCounsel.com about her move to the GC’s office. “But still absolutely yes, it’s still sweaty palms and I have to have little pep talks with myself. I don’t think that will ever go away.”
