Former Hewlett-Packard Co. CEO Mark Hurd received compensation valued at almost $24 million in his final year at the tech giant — but a big slice of that was taken away after his resignation, according to a new regulatory filing.

Hurd signed away his right to receive almost $10 million in stock awards last year as part of a settlement with the technology giant.
