As e-commerce giant Amazon faces unprecedented scrutiny from the Federal Trade Commission, the company is bulking up its army of former FTC staffers, according to LinkedIn posts and news reports.

Among those joining Seattle-based Amazon this year were Andi Arias, who came aboard as corporate counsel for privacy in January after spending 11 years at the FTC. Also joining in January was Stelios Xenakis, who’s a corporate counsel. He had been at the agency for 13 years, most recently serving as an antitrust attorney adviser.
