Four years after going to work for Hogan Lovells as an associate, Christine Habeeb answered a cold call from an in-house legal recruiter that would alter the course of her career and put her on the path to the general counsel’s seat.

The call spurred Habeeb to leave her Big Law life in Washington, D.C., and move across the country to Seattle, where she joined Amazon as senior corporate counsel of payments. For the next five years, she honed her skills as an in-house leader while focusing on money transmission and financial privacy and lending regulations.
