Cross-department collaborations may no longer be enough to help legal chiefs combat corporate threats, particularly cyber attacks and compliance gaps, a new Association of Corporate Counsel survey suggests.

The organization’s 2022 Chief Legal Officers Survey, released Tuesday. found that 80% of in-house legal chiefs say they’re responsible for compliance, but only 47% oversee privacy issues. Just 16% say they oversee cyber-breach response, and only 10% are responsible for information governance.
