On the surface, it may seem more difficult for in-house counsel to perform pro bono legal services than attorneys in family law and criminal defense. But Corporate Pro Bono, a partnership between the Pro Bono Institute and the Association of Corporate Counsel, puts that myth to bed. • LGBT Tax Resource: In 2014, BNY Mellon, White & Case and the National LGBT Bar Association joined forces to create an online tax resource for LGBT partners. The lawyers involved researched state codes, administrative guidance and case law and created a resource to explain the law and its tax implications for each jurisdiction. “The results have given taxpayers and preparers the most complete state-by-state information ever available for LGBT families,” says Runyon.
