Are employees toking up in the wake of liberalized marijuana laws? Well, Robin Shea of Constangy, Brooks, Smith & Prophete says new laws aren’t having as big an effect on employer drug policies as one would imagine. She bases this on a recent survey of employer marijuana policies in states that have legalized the drug, conducted by the Society for Human Resources Management. Here are some key findings:

New laws, same policies: Of 224 employers that have operations in multiple jurisdictions, some with legalized marijuana and others without, 94 percent said they use the same drug policies across the board. And out of 407 employers in states with legalized recreational marijuana, 69 percent have not changed their policies in response to the new laws.
