Description

This CLE webinar is designed to enable law firms, lawyers, and law practice managers to appreciate that the business continuity management programs are based on ever-changing industry standards, guidelines, and best practices. It describes how more law firms are adopting and leveraging standards for resilience that maximize value, minimize cost, deliver benefits, and contribute to top-level performance.

Business continuity is a key component of any law firm’s risk management program. However, law firm partners, associates, and employees are often not aware of the existence of the program or their roles within the business continuity effort. Are managing partners able to rely on a business continuity program if key stakeholders are unaware of their response and recovery and responsibilities? No. And, as a result, the time and resources invested in the continuity planning effort are often wasted.

Writing and testing a business continuity plan are essential components of any law firm’s business continuity but, before beginning to write a plan, the law firm should define the business continuity program, including the governance design; conduct the business impact analysis and risk assessment processes; and complete the development and selection of the firm’s response and recovery strategy.
