Tammy R. Daub

Of Counsel, Employment Law Department
Paul Hastings LLP

Tammy Daub is of counsel in the Employment Law Department of Paul Hastings and is based in the firm’s Washington, D.C. office. She maintains a broad practice representing and counseling clients in all aspects of labor and employment law, including systemic and individual discrimination, federal contract compliance, fair pay, and wage and hour issues.

Ms. Daub has significant experience in the Executive Orders, laws and regulations applicable to federal contractors and is an assistant chair of the firm's Federal Contractor Compliance Group. She most recently served as a Senior Attorney in the Office of the Solicitor, United States Department of Labor (DOL). In that role, she provided advice on enforcement, regulatory, and policy matters for various DOL agencies, including the Department’s Office of Federal Contract Compliance Programs (OFCCP). Ms. Daub also managed and conducted litigation on behalf of the Department on both the trial and appellate levels.

Prior to the DOL, Ms. Daub was an attorney with another national law firm where she represented employers in litigation, provided advice on various employment matters, and handled a wide range of other civil matters.

Kirsten Hotchkiss

Kirsten Hotchkiss is Vice President, Global Employee Relations and Employment Counsel for GBT US, LLC, dba American Express Global Business Travel, a business travel management company with over 12,000 employees. A practicing attorney for over 30 years, Ms. Hotchkiss has extensive experience in helping employers manage the complex array of employment laws, investigating and responding to employee concerns, and defending and resolving claims brought against them.

As in-house counsel, Ms. Hotchkiss has always focused her attention on finding new and creative ways to avoid litigation, manage employee concerns, and maintain harmony in the workplace. She has counseled and trained hundreds of supervisors on employment legal issues. In addition, she provides advice and guidance on the development of new policies and programs designed to improve the employee experience.

Throughout her career, she has been active in both bar association and civic activities within her community. Currently, she serves on the Board of Historic Mitchelville, the first town of formerly enslaved people in the United States.

Ms. Hotchkiss is a qualified mediator, the owner of an employment law training business, EmLaw Training, and the co-founder of the on-line website for legacy planning, My Life’s Message (www.mylifesmessage.com).

Kendall Mills is Senior Counsel for Jones Lang LaSalle (JLL), which employs more than 70,000 employees in 80 countries. In her role as Senior Counsel, Mills provides advice and counsel on employment law matters, directs internal ethics and employment investigations, ensures statutory compliance with employment laws, and drafts and assists in the development and implementation of company policies and programs.

Prior to joining JLL, Mills was Employment Counsel at Allstate Insurance Company where she provided employment law advice and counsel to clients, managed litigation and directed internal ethics investigations. Mills was also responsible leading many of the Law and Regulation Department’s diversity and inclusion initiatives, including the development of a diversity and inclusion scorecard to measure Allstate’s Premier Law Firms’ commitment to diversity in the legal profession and the creation of Allstate’s General Counsel’s Excellence in Diversity Award.

Mills received her Bachelor of Science in Communications from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign and her Juris Doctor from John Marshall Law School in Chicago.

Clare McCown

Clare McCown has served as Associate General Counsel of Rakuten USA since 2013, previously serving as General Counsel for one of its subsidiaries, Rakuten Commerce (formerly Buy.com). She is responsible for managing litigation, labor / employment, risk mitigation and compliance matters, as well as providing general corporate and commercial legal support. She works with approximately ten Rakuten US subsidiaries in the e-commerce, online marketing, and logistics sectors. Clare also serves as a key legal interface between the company’s American subsidiaries and it’s Japanese parent and global affiliates.

In 2007, Clare left private practice to help build a technology company in the social commerce sector. She headed Legal, Operations, and Corporate Governance for the company through its acquisition by Rakuten in 2010. Prior to her in-house roles, Clare focused her practice in mass tort and commercial litigation.

Clare received her JD from the University of Maryland with a certificate in Environmental Law, and earned a dual Bachelors in Political Science and History from University of North Carolina Wilmington.
