Lourdes Slater is the CEO of Karta Legal LLC, a female-owned consultancy firm with a focus on legal technology services and IT. In sharp contrast with other providers, KL’s aim is to change management through design thinking and process improvement using Lean Six Sigma and Agile Legal Project Management techniques.

She is a law graduate of the University of Pennsylvania and a seasoned litigator with over 25 years of practice in federal and state courts, as well as in international arbitrations. Over the last 12 years, Lourdes’s practice focus has been technology acquisition and implementation, electronic discovery, data and legal project management. For the last eight years, Lourdes has lead the data, discovery and vendor management in dozens of RMBS cases at G&E. Prior to that, she led discovery efforts at Baker Hostetler for the Madoff Trustee.

A team builder and a skilled negotiator, she has a solid track record of saving clients millions of dollars in the technology space. Lourdes is a Certified Lean Six Sigma Sensei. And she is a frequent speaker and educator on Lean and Agile methodologies, data management and privacy, e-Discovery, and legal technology, including artificial intelligence.

Lourdes was named a 2019 Trailblazer by the New York Law Journal.

Courtney Enloe currently serves as Senior Vice President and Chief Litigation Counsel at 3M in St. Paul, Minnesota. In this role, she leads 3M’s global legal strategy on significant litigation and other matters across the enterprise and advises executive leadership and the Board of Directors on legal and reputational risk.

Prior to joining 3M in 2017, Courtney served as Chief Counsel – U.S. Pharma and Chief Counsel - Litigation for McKesson Corporation, a Fortune 5 global healthcare company based in San Francisco, California. In these roles, Courtney led the litigation team, served as the lead lawyer for multiple business units, and provided legal oversight for material pharmaceutical sourcing transactions. Before McKesson, Courtney served as Senior Litigation Counsel at Georgia-Pacific, a multi-national consumer products and manufacturing company, where she led strategy on a wide range of litigation and consumer safety matters, including a successful appeal to the Supreme Court of the U.S. Prior to Georgia-Pacific, Courtney served as Senior Litigation Counsel and the lead employment lawyer at EarthLink, a technology company.

Before moving in-house, Courtney worked in private practice as a litigator at Holland & Knight LLP and Alston & Bird LLP in Atlanta, Georgia. After law school, Courtney served as a law clerk to Judge James E. Massey, U.S. Bankruptcy Court for the Northern District of Georgia.

Erin Zipes is currently Vice President, Assistant General Counsel at Shopify, the leading cloud-based, multi-channel commerce platform, powering over 600,000 businesses in approximately 175 countries, including Rebecca Minkoff and Kylie Cosmetics. She joined Shopify in September 2014 and was involved in its initial public offering on the NYSE and TSX in May 2015. She was previously Assistant General Counsel of Nordion, a health sciences company that had been cross-listed on the NYSE and TSX until its acquisition in August 2014.

Previous to her three years at Nordion, she was in private practice with two national Canadian law firms for six years. Ms. Zipes has a BCOMM from Queen's University and an BCL/LLB from McGill University and is currently a member of the Ontario Bar.

Erin is a senior analyst with ALM Legal Intelligence covering legal technology and trends. She has extensive experience researching IT, technology and related services.

Prior to joining the Legal Intelligence team, Erin was a senior analyst with ALM Consulting Intelligence, where she led IT Consulting research, covering topics such as cybersecurity, cloud and analytics. In addition, Erin has experience as an analyst with Technology Business Research, covering IT and consulting firms; and with Deloitte as a consultant focusing on IT process improvement and business analysis projects to increase efficiency.

Erin holds both a BS in Industrial Engineering and MS in Industrial Engineering with concentration in Integrated Technology Management from Cal Poly, SLO.

Rashmi heads the Intellectual Property/Information Technology law practice group at Aetna Inc., one of the nation’s premier provider of health care, dental, pharmacy, disability insurance. She oversees all legal and strategic enforcement and maintenance issues relating to the Aetna enterprise and its subsidiaries’ intellectual property assets. In addition, her work focuses on brand counseling, IP licensing, advertising reviews, data security, technology and software legal issues, oversight of the patent portfolio and social media.

Rashmi graduated with a J.D. as a Harlan Fiske Stone scholar from Columbia Law School. She began her career at Kirkland & Ellis and subsequently joined W.W. Grainger, Inc. as Senior Corporate Counsel before joining Aetna.
