The American Lawyer’s latest pro bono survey data shows how far ahead U.S. firms still are of their U.K. counterparts when it comes to charitable lawyering.

The average Am Law 200 attorney carried almost 54 hours of pro bono work in 2015. British firms have upped their game over the past decade, but even at the largest and best resourced firms, lawyers will rarely do more than 20 hours of pro bono per year. And once you go outside London and the major U.K. firms, pro bono activity drops off significantly.
