Ottawa-based Gowling Lafleur Henderson and British firm Wragge Lawrence Graham & Co. have agreed to merge into a 1,400-lawyer firm called Gowling WLG.

But the combined Anglo-Canadian giant, which expects to have more than $615 million in annual gross revenue once the firm goes live on Jan. 1, 2016, remains uninterested in a potential tie-up with a U.S. partner.
