A former head of Latham & Watkins’ Tokyo office has moved to Squire Sanders.
 
Hisao Hirose is a Japanese-qualified finance partner who specializes in aircraft deals. He has advised leasing companies, banks, major airlines and low cost carriers. Among his clients have been All Nippon Airways Co., Ltd., Sumitomo Mitsui Banking Corp., Hokkaido International Airlines Co., Ltd. and Mitsubishi UFJ Lease & Finance Co. Ltd.
 
Hirose joined Latham in 2005 and was appointed head of that firm’s Tokyo office in 2008. He most recently led Latham’s Japan finance practice. Prior to Latham, Hirose was general counsel for Citibank in Japan.
 
He began his career in 1979 as an associate at the former Nakagawa Law Office, which is now part of Clifford Chance’s Tokyo office. In 1992, Hirose set up his own practice, which merged in 1998 with White & Case’s joint venture partner Kandabashi Law.
 
Cleveland-based Squire Sanders has 30 lawyers in its Tokyo office.
