Embattled Japanese camera and medical equipment maker Olympus has hired Shearman & Sterling and Blank Rome to represent it in securities litigation brought in the United States in the wake of a major corporate governance scandal.

Shearman commercial litigation partners Stuart Baskin and Brian Polovoy in New York and Blank Rome litigation partner Evan Lechtman and of counsel Edward Cahn-a former federal judge-in Philadelphia are leading Olympus’s U.S. legal defense team.
