New Orleans-based Adams and Reese has elected Nashville partner GIF THORNTON to serve as chairman of its six-partner executive committee in 2012. Thornton, who also held the role in 2010, succeeds Jackson, Mississippi partner Gee Ogletree. In his government relations practice, Thornton serves as legislative counsel to businesses, trade associations, and government entities with interests before state agencies in Tennessee. He also represents clients before local, state, and federal regulatory boards and administrative agencies.
