Labelux Group is suddenly walking in some very expensive shoes. In an $800 million deal announced Sunday, the German luxury goods group will acquire high-end footwear company Jimmy Choo from TowerBrook Capital Partners.

TowerBrook Capital is the latest of three private equity firms to own the brand since 2001, when cofounder Choo sold his share in the company that bears his name. The other cofounder, Tamara Mellon, still holds a 17 percent stake in the company and plans to stay on as CEO after the change in ownership, according the Labelux press release announcing the deal.
