Thomas Phillips, a former chief justice of the Texas Supreme Court and a litigation partner at Baker Botts in Austin, and his wife have reached a tentative settlement in a wrongful death suit stemming from a 2009 car accident, according to sibling publication Texas Lawyer and The Associated Press.

The Am Law Daily reported last year on the suit filed against Phillips and his wife, Marilyn, by the parents of 17-year-old Audrey King, who was killed on the night of March 30, 2009, after attending a party hosted by the Phillips’s son Daniel.
