Two Firms Get Slapped

In June, New Jersey state Superior Court judge Ellen Koblitz sanctioned Paul, Weiss, Rifkind, Wharton & Garrison and Lowenstein.Sandler for pursuing a “frivolous” and “ridiculous” suit on behalf of mogul Ronald Perelman against his ex–father-in-law. Koblitz said the firms “at times crossed the boundary of appropriate litigation tactics” and cited former Paul, Weiss litigation head Martin  Flumenbaum  for an examination of defendant Robert Cohen, 85, that was “harsh and painful.”
