Cooley will soon usher in a new CEO, as it continues its pursuit of building one of the great law firms of the next generation.
The firm has tapped San Francisco corporate leader Rachel Proffitt as its next CEO, effective Jan. 1, 2024. She is Cooley’s first-ever female CEO. She will succeed Joe Conroy, who will continue to serve as chairman of the firm after roughly 16 years at the helm.
