Clifford Chance has named Ness Cohen, a 25-year veteran of the firm and most recently regional practice area leader for the firm’s Americas real estate practice and chair of the Americas personnel committee, as its first New York office managing partner.

His appointment takes effect Thursday. Cohen will take over day-to-day operations of the office from Sharis Pozen, the firm’s new regional managing partner for the Americas and global antitrust chair, who was appointed in May of this year and is located in Washington, D.C.
