Dentons has had programs and governing bodies addressing diversity and inclusion at a global level since its 2013 founding. But for the first time, it’s created a global inclusion and diversity officer, naming Toronto-based Kate Broer to a role that will have her participating in all meetings of the firm’s global board.

Broer previously served as Dentons’ head of global client development and women’s clients and markets. Before joining the firm’s global leadership, she was a litigation partner in Canada and served as the chair of inclusion and diversity for the Canada region. Broer will report directly to Dentons global CEO Elliott Portnoy in the new role.
