In a rare lateral partner hire, Cravath, Swaine & Moore has brought on former Federal Trade Commission Assistant Director Daniel Zach as a partner in New York, sources close to the move have confirmed. 

Zach was the assistant director of the FTC’s Mergers I Division, overseeing the health care sector. That included mergers in the pharmaceutical, life sciences and medical device fields, all of which have been active verticals for deal work recently.
