LeClairRyan founder Gary LeClair and UnitedLex have come up short in their efforts to pare down claims from the defunct firm’s bankruptcy trustee, who is seeking to recover over $120 million on the grounds that a back-office outsourcing arrangement with the new law provider accelerated the firm’s dissolution.

U.S. Bankruptcy Judge Kevin Huennekens of the Eastern District of Virginia on Wednesday rejected a bid by both defendants to wipe a number of claims touching on conspiracy, breach of fiduciary responsibility and misappropriation from an August amended complaint, concluding that all these allegations were properly pleaded.
