Midwest-based law firm Armstrong Teasdale will raise the starting salaries of Philadelphia first-year associates to $190,000 next year, exceeding newly set levels for the firm’s associates in New York and Boston, a source inside the firm confirmed.

Increases to starting associate salaries at the 640-employee firm are slated to take effect Jan. 1, according to a memo shared at an associate town hall last week, which has been confirmed by a source inside the firm. Raises apply in the firm’s major cities, with associates in Philadelphia slated to take home the most in compensation.
