Katten Muchin Rosenman announced Monday that it has onboarded the former general counsel of the U.S. Commodity Futures Trading Commission as a partner in its Washington, D.C., office. Daniel Davis, who had been at the commission for the previous four years, will join Katten’s financial markets and funds group.

“Dan clearly is an exceptional attorney who brings important skills and substantial experience that will benefit our worldwide client base,” Lance Zinman, global chairman of the financial markets and funds group, said in a statement. “With the always changing regulatory landscape, we must be ever prepared to offer pragmatic advice and effective strategies that will help attain business objectives. Dan’s presence on our team furthers our already expansive abilities in this regard. We are very glad to have him.”
