DLA Piper partner Douglas Emhoff, the spouse of Democratic vice presidential candidate Kamala Harris, is taking a temporary leave from the law firm as the 2020 presidential campaign kicks into high gear.

A DLA Piper spokesman on Monday confirmed that Emhoff, a litigator in the firm’s Los Angeles office, is in the process of transitioning his clients to different attorneys in the firm.
