Dell / EMC
Nearly two years after seven Am Law 100 firms handled Dell Inc.’s $24.4 billion leveraged buyout, some of the same firms landed roles in the computer maker’s
$67 billion acquisition of Hopkinton, Massachusetts-based EMC Corp.

The deal, announced Oct. 12 and expected to close between May and October 2016, will see Round Rock, Texas-based Dell, along with owners Michael Dell, MSD Partners and Silver Lake, pay $33.15 per EMC share in a combination of cash and tracking stock in EMC’s VMware Inc. data-center software business. VMware will remain a publicly traded company.
