Ah, that perennial problem: How to stem the female brain drain in law firms? Firms have tried part time, flextime, coaching, mentoring, pep talks—nothing has done the trick. So let’s try a radically retro idea: Make it chic for men to be househusbands.

Increasingly, women are discovering this tried-and-true formula for “having it all.” Six years ago, I explored the phenomenon of Big Law female partners with stay-at-home husbands. At the time, some couples shied away from discussing the arrangement—as if it were a dirty little secret of female success. (Meanwhile, where would Big Law dads be without all those moms tending the home front?)
