The much awaited ABA statistics for law graduate jobs are out, and here’s what I think is the news flash: Cornell Law School leaped to second place for job placement for 2013 graduates. Though ranked 13th in U.S. News & World Report, Cornell trounced higher ranked schools for what really counts to most grads: Full time jobs that actually require bar passage. Yes, that means being a real lawyer, instead of that “J.D. advantage” stuff.
But before we look at how that little law school (190 to 200 students) in the middle of nowhere (Ithaca, New York) did it, let’s check on the top 10 schools for job placement, as reported by Karen Sloan of The National Law Journal:
