Defendants-appellants appeal from an April 4, 2001 order that was entered on April 9, 2001 by the United States District Court for the Eastern District of New York (Edward R. Korman, Judge) that excluded certain Swiss corporate entities from receiving releases under a settlement agreement from further liability for having utilized slave labor during the Second World War. For the reasons that follow, we dismiss the appeal in part and vacate and remand the April 4, 2001 order of the District Court in part.

Defendants UBS AG and Credit Suisse Group (“Swiss Banks”) appeal from an April 4, 2001 order that was entered on April 9, 2001 by the United States District Court for the Eastern District of New York that excluded certain Swiss corporate entities from receiving releases under a settlement agreement from further liability for having utilized slave labor during the Second World War.
