Thomas Cohn, 47, recently took over as Northeast regional director of the Federal Trade Commission, a regulatory agency charged with conducting merger reviews and preventing anti-competitive conduct.

Cohn has worked in the region, whose jurisdiction covers New York, New Jersey, the New England states, Puerto Rico and the Virgin Islands, since 1999. He previously served as assistant regional director.
