Connecticut Attorney General Richard Blumenthal has confirmed that his office has recently subpoenaed the nation's three largest debt-rating agencies as part of an investigation into possible anticompetitive practices. Subpoenas were issued to Standard & Poors, Moody's Investor Services and Fitch Ratings Service for an investigation that focuses on whether the agencies are using their dominant position to unfairly raise prices or exclude competitors in violation of state antitrust laws, Blumenthal said.
