Embattled Internet phone company Vonage on Oct. 10 requested a rehearing of the Sept. 26 decision in its patent infringement litigation with Verizon Communications Inc.
On Sept. 26, the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Federal Circuit partially remanded a March 8 jury verdict in the U.S. District Court in Alexandria, Va., that said the company infringed on three Verizon patents. The U.S. Court of Appeals remanded the verdict on one patent, affirmed the verdict on the two other claims, and vacated the entire $58 million damages award and 5.5 percent royalty payment.
