In a hearing called to deal with the unexpected motion to withdraw by attorneys for Pennsylvania state Sen. Vincent Fumo in his fraud trial, the judge indicated he had little choice whether to grant the motion and instead focused on when the senator could get new counsel.

Senior U.S. District Judge William H. Yohn Jr. rejected Fumo’s original estimate that it would take 60 days to find new counsel and instead kept a hearing for next Friday to check the senator’s progress in finding a new attorney.
